How to install and remove press-on nails

Hey, you receive your order! Awesome! 😍

It is so lovely to have you as a customer. I had so much fun creating your nails! I really hope you enjoy your new press-on nails. If you have any questions regarding anything, please contact me on Facebook or Instagram @Onglessky

INSTRUCTIONS for 1 to 15 days wear.

Please watch my step-by-step installation video BEFORE installing your press-on nails. All steps must be followed to ensure maximum hold.

Installation with glue:

1. Wash your hands with warm soapy water. Dry well.

2. Sort out the nail tips by spreading them out in front of you, taking care to choose the ideal size for each finger.

3. Shorten your natural nails as short as possible. Push your cuticles using the cuticle pusher, file the surface of your nails with the pink mini-block provided with your set.

4. Clean your nails with a bit of 70% alcohol using a paper towel. Let it dry completely.

To make installation easier, start with your dominant hand (if you're right-handed, apply your press-on nails on the right hand first).

Do one finger at a time:

  • Put a drop of glue proportional to the size of your nail (in the middle of your nail) and spread it so that you have it evenly over the entire surface of the nail.
  • Install your nail tips so that they are as close as possible to your cuticles without touching the skin.
  • Press on the nail tips for 5 to 10 seconds and make sure that the glue does not overflow.
  • If there is an overflow, quickly wipe with an alcohol pad.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE GLUE DOES NOT TOUCH THE SKIN.

Do not wash your hands for at least 30 minutes.

Recommended wear is up to 2 weeks with glue installation method. By removing your nails every 2 weeks, you can ensure that your natural nails are healthy and free from possible mold due to water infiltration.

DO NOT put back your press-on nails if you see yellow or green spots on your nails, please visit a pharmacist. If your glue is well applied, you won't get mould from water infiltration.

INSTRUCTIONS for 1 to 7 days wear.

Installation with adhesives:

1. Wash your hands with warm soapy water. Dry well.

2. Sort out the nail tips by spreading them out in front of you, taking care to choose the ideal size for each finger.

3. Push your cuticles using the cuticle pusher, file the surface of your nail with the mini pink mini-sanding block provided with your set.

4. Clean your nails with a bit of 70% alcohol using a paper towel. Let it dry completely.

  • Choose the ideal adhesive size (double-sided tape) for each nail.
  • Stick the stickers on your dominant hand first (if you are right-handed, stick your stickers on the right hand first).
  • Install your adhesives on all 10 fingers by sticking the adhesive directly to your natural nail.
  • Remove protective film one finger at a time.
  • Stick your press-on nail closest to the cuticles.
  • Once the nail tips is in place and well positioned, press and hold pressure for approximately 5 seconds.
  • You can now move to the next finger.

With this method, I recommend installing them at night and not getting your hands wet for at least 6 to 8 hours to ensure that the adhesive sets properly. Use nail adhesive for no more than 7 days if you want your nails to stay healthy.

Peeling off:

If you have a nail that seems to peel off, peel it off completely as soon as possible to avoid water infiltration and before reapplying your reusable nail, clean your natural nail as well as the backs of your nail tips.

1-7 days is the suggested wearing duration for adhesive-installed nails.

To remove your Press-On Nails:

If they were glued with glue:

Do NOT soak your nails in water (this will soften your natural nail and risk damaging it during removal). Use the metal cuticle pusher provided with your set, the small blade will allow you to gently glide under the capsule and thus take off your press-on nails gradually starting by taking off all the contours of the nail tips.

Repeat these steps until the nail tips is completely detached from the natural nail.

You should never force in order to not injure yourself, it is normal to feel a slight discomfort but no pain should appear. If you hesitate or do not succeed, PLEASE contact me on my Facebook page or my instagram account @Onglessky. It will be my pleasure to guide you.

Then clean your natural nails with the mini-block to gently remove glue residue.

Always clean the backs of your press-on nails with the blade of the cuticle pusher or an electric nail file to remove any glue residue, then you can keep them in their case until next time.

If they have been glued with double-sided adhesives:

Soak your nails in warm soapy water for about 10 minutes, then use the orange stick to gradually separate the nail tips from your nail starting by peeling all the edges. Repeat these steps until the nail tips is completely detached from the natural nail. Remove adhesive remnants from the nail tips if any.

Please note that Ongles Sky is in no way responsible for the misuse you make of your reusable nails. The above recommendations are described in order to avoid any problem that may arise that may cause damage to your natural nails, so it is strongly suggested to follow these recommendations.

Thank you kindly

What are the factors that influence how long my nails last?

There are 3 important things to check

1. Are my nail tips the right size?

If your press-on are too small, they will tend to "bounce back and try to regain their shape" by taking off from your natural nail. Conversely, if your nail is too large, spacing will be present between your natural nail and the capsule, causing it to peel off.

Exemple: Your hair or any things like threads will get caught in this space and will cause your capsule to peel off.

2. Did I prepare my natural nail correctly?

I invite you to watch the video above and don't hesitate to press "pause" to take the time needed to do your preparation.

3. Was the amount of glue sufficient?

The amount of glue is essential for a good hold, your glue must be spread evenly over the entire surface of your nail and must remain as shiny as if you had applied clear gel polish.

Let's do a test before applying your Press-On Nails!

Apply glue to your nail, spread it evenly and wait for 3 to 4 seconds.

Is the glue partially or completely dry? If the answer is yes, there is not enough glue! Add some more and redo the test.

Is the glue still shiny?

Bravo, you are now ready to install your Press-On Nails perfectly!!
